HELP!! Permissions & Win2K

Just reformatted--had this problem last time. Can't import my .pst files back to Outlook. Easily solved last time by sharing the partition which contained that .pst file. Unfortunately, it's not working this time around.

I'm right clicking on my HD partition-->sharing-->new-->"I" Windows Explorer shows the sharing symbol on that parition--but still, Outlook says I need to be granted "sharing privleges"!! I am using the Administrator account (the only account) just like last time.

From within Outlook > File > Open > Personal Folder File (*.pst) and locate the *.pst file you want to use. No need to import a file. Plus you can actually move a *.pst file from one HD to another and use it locally if you want. And, if you move the *.pst file from another HD to where you want it - move the archieve file along with it.

BTW, the default *.pst location for the Administrator account would be:

"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook".

Hope this helps.

Damn, sounded very promising--same permission required prompt.

I guess I'll reformat the 2 partitions I set aside for 2K and repartition using NTFS and try everything again.

Thank for the help though.
