Hi i'm new to the board. Just wondering if anyone has any saved configurations , or could help me put two computers together. I need once computer to budget out at $3,000
and the other one to have no limit. no cheap stuff all name brand. This is for extreme gaming. All the latest and greatest. Don't need a monitor or keyboard just the tower.

It needs

case

ram
dual core cpu
powersupply
video prefer 512 ram
sound
dvd burner with laser etching /sata
sata 2 or fastest hard drives

There are no shortage of threads that can tell you how to waste your money... just buy the fastest components you can find. A quick search or two could probably find plenty of suggestions on super-high-end computers.

Tsss, go to Alienware.com and copy what they have in their computers... Don't be surprised if it turns out to be cheaper though... ;)

to answer the OP, my personal choices are:

Antec P180
Asus A8N32 SLI
Corsair XMS-3500LL
Athlon64 X2 4800+
PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI-PFC
EVGA GeForce 7800 GTX
Creative X-Fi Gamer
Plextor slot loading DVD burner
WD 74GB Raptor
500GB Hitachi SATA2

just off the top of my head. don't know if it will work, but it seems interesting to me.

I'm with Xanis, only take 4GB of RAM, and dual BFG 7800GTX OC's... Do make sure you order the 512MB versions eh...

EDIT: Oh, and to make it silent, buy dual NV Silencers 5 Rev. 3 and a Thermaltake Big Typhoon, or the Zalman Reserator kit (you can use it as a coathanger if you like...)
