HELP - PC won't start up

Ok I'm at church right now and the projection computer in the back of the sanctuary won't start up. I press the power button and nothing happens. I've checked the power cable and the socket it's in (in a surge protector). I opened up the case and the MoBo light is flashing yellow. It's a DELL.

I need to get this working soon, does anyone know what could be wrong?

I posted this in here because there are a lot more people in OT and I need a solution quickly.

make sure the switch on the power supply is turned to I (not O).

make sure there is power coming to the outlet its plugged into.

There's no switch on the PS.

Power is getting to the computer - the mobo light is flashing yellow.

No, the computer doesn't even start up. When I press the power button NOTHING happens.
 
Make sure that all cards are seated correctly, all cables plugged in properly, and that you never buy a Dell again
 
I had this once.... unplug the power cable from the mobo and check the rest. plug it back on an try again
 
OK, I will tell my brother to try that... I am just here to see if anyone replies and tell him what they said to do...
 
gotcha. so your brother is computer knowledgable enough to follow the instructions but not enough to diagnose the problem himself.
 
Hey, I am not smart enough to know what you just said.
He has to play an instrument in the band and he told me to check the forums and refresh every few minutes...
I tell him what to do then he tells the guy(s) who are working on it.
 
Tell him to....

1) Clear the CMOS

2) Unplug all cables and cards from the mobo, then put them back in and check that they are all seated correctly.

3) Check the mobo for any burnt out BIOS chips. It will be obvious if they are.
 
and if still nothing, after pushing the power button, smell the power supply. if it smells like somethings burning...there ya go.
 
...Well they would most likely be able to smell it either way... I think they will get it after another hour or so.
 
Have you checked the memory module(s)? maybe someone upgrade the system in a hurry and failed to seat the module(s) correctly? And yeah, clear the CMOS and reseat the video card too.

BTW, what kind of dell is this? You can try http://forums.us.dell.com for more specific helps.
