Okay, i am a noob. Built my own PC and it worked great for about a week, and then i got a little overconfident and tried to OC using my motherboard OC utility. I am running an Intel E6400 on an Abit motherboard. I dont think i OCed to much, it was very moderate... but after i did it, my computer crashed and i got an error message, forget what it said. So now im trying to start it again and it starts trying to boot from disk and asks me to insert the system disk to boot... system disk? Does this mean it isnt seeing my hard drive anymore? I went into setup and reverted everything I OCed and changed to default and i still get the same message. Any ideas?

Thanks. Help! :)

did you try loading the default bios settings?

Can you see your hard drive in the bios?

reset your bios to default settings, then check your bios boot setting for the drives. If you are running multiple hdd, you might have to change which drive the bios will attempt to boot from first.

You probably don't know what this guy means. You need to find the jumper and put it in the reset position, push the power button, then put it back in the normal position.

Why should he reset BIOS with the jumper? You can do the same only by removing the battery for a few seconds.

If your HDD is Sata, don't forget to press F6 during the installation of Win XP ;)

Your error message sounds the same as mine from last night. I flashed my BIOS in anticipation of a newer CPU on the way. While the flash worked, it didn't boot, giving me the "...INSERT SYSTEM DISK ERROR...". For some reason, the flash reset which drive was first in line for windows to search for itself. I just had to go and move my SATA 1 drive to the top of the list and then all was fine.
