Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and couldn't find my answer. I could be wrong but I don't think I had this problem in the past. But right now I'm using BIOS 1226 and when I set my DRAM Frequency manually so I can proportionally raise the frequency on my CPU: when my computer Posts it reads my memory as PC2 4300 instead of 6400 when it is set to default.

I have a Core2Duo E6300 and I had the CPU frequency at 400 and the DRAM frequency at 800. I'm worried that by posting at PC2 4300 its not taking advantage of my memory and maybe hindering its performance.

Also incase anyone is wonderining, I'm running 2GB of Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4.

I'm not that worried about the issue right now since I turned everything back to stock settings. But I'm upgrading to a quad core very shortly and upgrading other components and surely I will be overclocking my system again and don't want to run into this issue then.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When it POSTed at the lower speed, did you go into windows and load up cpu-z or a similar program to verify that your system's FSB was actually set at 400?

it is posting at the correct speed. It is simply using the 1:1 divider which is labeled as PC2-4300 because default fsb for your chip is 266. This equates to 533 mhz DDR multiplied by 8 or PC2-4300 ram.

Cheers!

That was going to be my response, but I reread his post. He says he set the FSB at 400.
