Hoping I can find some help.

This is my setup below:
ASUS P5ND2-SLI Deluxe
Pentium D 805
Kingston Hyper-X DDR2 675 (2x512)
MSI GeForce 7900 GS
Ultra X2 550 watt PSU

I changed the overclocking options in the BIOS to manual. I have tried raising the FSB of the CPU from 533 (133x4) to 660 (165x4) and everywhere in between. My problem is the BIOS will show the overclock fine (3.3GHz at 660 FSB) but Windows XP and CPU-Z will not. They still show 2.66GHz at 533 FSB. Why are the BIOS changes not showing up in Windows?

I have tried using ASUS's Ai Booster Utility. It works with mixed results. CPU-Z will show the change, but as soon as the computer is restarted it reverts back to 2.66GHz at 533 FSB.

Can anyone help? I would prefer not to use Ai Booster and just use the BIOS settings. I have tried raising the vCore. The vCore reads as the new value in CPU-Z but the FSB does not.

To use the BIOS to overclock, you'll have to turn off EIST or E1ST (whichever it's called), in the BIOS. You can't overclock Intels with their version of Cool n Quiet enabled, like you can with some AMD motherboards.

Hi AgentWD40...

I´ve been overclocking that cpu on different motherboards. It works great. Also did it with your current mobo.

Here is some settings you can use. Last setting should give you a ratio 1:1.

Fsb 160 =3200

Mem : 684 mhz

Fsb 170 = 3400 system overclock 27%

Mem : 680 1/1 0.19% with memory speeds stock at 667mhz ddr2

Fsb 174 = 3480 / Incomplete Ratio (means, not at 1:1)

Fsb 176 = 3520 / Incomplete Ratio (means, not at 1:1)

Fsb 178 = 3560 / Incomplete Ratio (means, not at 1:1)

Fsb 180 = 3600 / Incomplete Ratio (means, not at 1:1) 26/14

The system is running 3400 mhz now, at ratio 1:1 as shown above..
(Fsb 170 = 3400mhz system overclock 27%. Mem : 680 1/1. 0.19% with memory speeds stock at 667mhz ddr2).

Fitted the Zalman 9500 cpu-cooler and cpu is steady at 34 degrees, 40 at continously max load.

Hope you can use this..
