I'm new to all this, and just about ready to jump into overclocking.
I have:
p4 2.26b
p4b533-v
PC3000 cas 2 memory
I've already been running with the 3:4 cpu/memory ratio.
My overclock plan is to lock the AGP/PCI frequency setting to manual (66/33), and then gradually increment the CPU external frequency (FSB) to see what I can reach.
First off, is this the correct approach, or should I leave the AGP/PCI settings on auto?
The thing that really worries me is not being sure I can undo my settings. I am planning on doing all this in the bios (jumperless). Is it possible that I push this too far and can no longer
get into the bios to undo it? I've been hunting around for some secret key to restore defaults before post but I cannot find one. Does this exist?
I suspect that chances are pretty slim that I'd hit this problem, but I want to make sure I can handle it if it did happen.
thanks
brian
