Help overclocking 2.26b, Newbie

I have just set-up a new system and would like to overclock it, but I haven't had any experience in overclocking before
I know you overclock generaly with the fsb, and I have tried to up that a bit, but I can't seem to get much higher than 145, it will post higher than that but won't start windows.

Any help with system settings would be helpful: voltage, programs(do I need to burn the processor and ram in, if so with what), ratio(3:4, 4:5, what?)
Anything you could think of to get me started would be nice.

P4 2.26b
1x512 Winbond DDR400
2xSeagate Cheetah 15.3 73gig drive
Geforce 4 Ti4200
Win XP Pro
