My college instructor e-mailed me the power point slides for a class I was going to miss. He sent them as Session5.ppt, an attachment to an e-mail.

When I received them, Outlook Express announced:

OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your e-mail: Session5.ppt

How can I get my hands on that material? I need it and I seriously doubt that it has a virus or other evil attached to it.

Tools -> Options -> Security Tab -> Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". Close OE. Open OE.

Bingo - unfortunately, the document must be resent to you.

no it doesn't, just removing security is plenty, I've done this quite a few times....

Correct. Once you uncheck the box in the security settings, apply the change, close and reopen outlook express.
