I plan to buy a phone off Craig's/ebay. Can I simply move the SIM card to the new phone and be good to go?

My phone plan was pretty basic. If I get a phone with a camera, will I be able to get at the pics?

If you have Cingular/T-Mobile, and you're buying an unlocked GSM phone, you should be fine. As far as getting at the pics, if the phone is equipped with Bluetooth or a USB port, you can get them off and onto your computer using either of the two options.
 
make sure you know what you are getting. depending on the carrier you need to get a phone that is compatible on the network. SIM cards will have your phones memory on it, but you still need to make sure you are getting a compatible phone for your network
