Help opening ports on Speedtouch585

hi all,,

just recently updated my connection from a poor 64Kb/s to a nice broadband 1000Mb/s.

Then i happily selected a list of torrents i could finally get down to downloading and got on with it....guess what? instaed of downloading at 7k/s i got speeds of 14-20K/s......isnt that a ah heck? with this rate things will take months to download....

direct downloading works sweet...its super fast....but torrents? just not happening.

I did my research and found that nearly all torrent clients require you to open specific ports in the router hardware in order to get descent speeds. But alas the instructions i can find through the manual and google are scarce if any. The router is configured by a webinterface and i managed to get as close as the "Assign a game or application to a local network device" step.

In this step i have to declare the following values for any new program entry...plz help me fill in the gaps

Protocol - TCP
Port Range - 6881-6999 ???
Translate to - ...????
Trigger Protocol - ....???
Trigger Prot - ...???

thnks

I dont know what program do you use for torrent, but for azureus, all you have to do is open one port and your golden.

sure,,,,,but thats what i asked....how do you open that port?

the speedtouch interface is just horrible.

I am not able to make the Azureus DHT work. It keeps saying DHT firewalled!!!

even after assigning a UDP (as well as a TCP) range on the webinterface of the router....

actually, assigning a UDP causes the NAT to display as FIREWALLED.

WHAT IS GOING OOOOON??????

the values i have used are as follows:

For the router:

Protocol : TCP
Port Range: 37939-37939
Translate to : 37939-37939
Trigger Protocol: -
Trigger Port: -
------------------------
Protocol: UDP
Port Range: 37939-37939
Translate to : 37939-37939
Trigger Protocol: -
Trigger Port: -

For Azureus Connection port: 37939
