Help on write and read speeds

Can anyone please tell me whether checking a flash drive's or HDD write and read speeds, will damage the drives ?

and also when using a flash drive or HDD for a long time will it reduce it's write and read speeds ?

(I use "Speedout" to check flash drive speeds and "crystal diskmark" to check HDD speeds.)
