Hey there,

I've got:
P3 Coppermine 850e (100mhz fsb) [currently running at 935mhz o/c bus to 110]
(abit be6 mobo) [only supports agp 2x]
TNT2 viper 770 (32mb)
256pc100 ram

I've been thinking about gettting a new video card, but am unsure what would be a wise choice, based on my current computer specs.

I've thought about GF4 Ti 4200, but i realize that would be a waste of money, since my cpu is slow. GF4 MX was also ruled out, mainly because I've heard a lot of slack about it.

I keep coming back to a Radeon 8500 of some sort or even a GF3.

Could someone please give me an idea of what would be a good card to put into my current system?
I would be using it for games as well as 2d and 3d content creation.

Thanks in advance,

well..there are two ways to think about this...
1.buy the card with the longest forward lifespan and very suitable to keep if you upgrade your rig in the next 6-18 months (depends on upcoming products/windows longhorn requirements/your performance standards)
in that case..gf4ti4200 128mb with the fastest rated ram you can find at a decent price

2.buy the now card, the card that gives you the best price/performance ratio right now
here's where the gf3 ti 200/ radeon 8500 oor 8500 le come in
any of those would be an excellent board, although still somewhat limited by your cpu
gf3 drivers are great, but ati's 8500 drivers are supposed to be really quite solid now too
