Help on transporting computers with heavy heatinks

Although the safest way to move these computers is to just remove heatsinks before moving, typical thermal compounds simply take too long to cure, and the time to mount and dismount heatsinks can be time consuming, which is problematic for LAN party uses. I am looking for way of secure the heatsinks by tying with threads of zip ties, but there aren't any guides for doing it. There are also bolt-on heatsinks that don't include backplates, such as the Scythes, how secure are these heatsinks compared to those with backplates?

Any tips on securing heatsinks for transport without dismounting will be appreciated.

I wouldn't worry all that much if the heatsink has a backplate. I tend to use fairly heavy heatsinks and routinely take my machine to LANs and I've never had an issue with it.

Maybe this is a stupid suggestion, but why not lay the tower on its side (with the mobo and heatsink closest to the floor of your trunk)? That way gravity won't pull the heatsink off. Simple.

I have considered laying the tower on its side too, but that wouldn't work when moving the case outside of the trunk. Last time I checked, it is much harder to carry the case by hand while the case is laid flat. I can try to balance the case on my head like some juggler, but my head is not exactly trained for balancing heavy objects, and the case can hit door frames easily when laid flat.
