Help on sound sys for new comp

I was wondering what the best sound card and speaker setup i could get for less then $250.

sugestions comments and links would be much apprecated

I'd start with an Audigy 2 ZS.

that the card im planing on getting. what speaker woul everyone sugest buying i want good sound quality and suround sound. i would like at least 5.1

Do you plan on playing games at all? If not, I wouldn't bother with the Audigy. Music will sound best on a 2.0 or 2.1 system. Plus, you can get a lot more speaker for your money when you have fewer channels to buy.

yes i do plan to play CS doom3 HL2 i will use them to listen to misic and do video editing as well.
