I am planning to setup a LAN with internet connection. The LAN purpose is more for games & file sharing. Can anyone please guide me how can I build a LAN with stable & secure connection? TQ
 
It's easy just to buy a switch but what I am concern is the viruses & adwares from the internet & the possibilties of disconnecting from a LAN game & online game. Anyway I can prevent those?
 
If you are sharing an internet connection, you most likely need a router which also doubles as a firewall keeping the bad guys out. You can not filter out spyware. You can prevent it using firefox and by running regular scans to find and delete the stuff.
