help on s754 mobo

old gamer

After reading many reviews and threds on this board, I intend to get an A64 2800+. However, I cannot decide on the mobo, I have shortlisted the following:

1. Epox 8KDAJ
2. MSI K8N Neo Platinum
3. Gigabyte K8NS

There are many conflicting comments on each of the above board, I dunno which to choose. I won't do any serious overclocking and just want to get one that have no problem (as far as possible) out of the box.

ASUS is not listed as it costs about US$150 which I think should be spent for s754.

Would the actual users of these boards give me some hints?

for PERSONAL experience i would go with the MSI K8N platinum, mine has been a perfect experience with nearly no problems

what RAM are u using? is OCZ EI a brandname? I heard (I am not sure) that MSI Neo Platinum has poor compatibily with RAM.

I built a machine with the EPoX board and the Athlon64 2800+ just a couple of months ago. I believe the RAM I used was a fair bit cheaper (read: slower) than what you are going with. It was the easiest and cleanest build that I have ever done, and the machine is rock-stable (at stock speeds. I don't overclock.)

Asrock K8S8X...I don't believe it can be beat even for a lot more money.
Not picky about ram like some of the NF3-250 boards, fast chipset, very stable, working AGP/PCI lock. Just a very good board.

I have had a couple NF3 boards and the ASrock is a better board IMHO.
