Help on Overclocking

i need some help on overclocking my system. I can overclock it but it doesnt seem to be stable.
My system:
Athlon XP 1700+
Leadtek Winfast K7NCR18D Pro
Crucial 512 PC3200
i don't know what i should set my vcore to and how to improve my RAM timings. I also have a problem since my system is running at 50 C. I just recently bought a Thermalright SLK-947U w/ arctic silver and it still runs at this temperature. Help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a SLK-947U and it still runs at 50C, then maybe you need to look at the airflow in your case. If you don't have any extra intake or exhaust fans, then you are definately going to see high temps cause the hot air isn't being moved out of the case.

Grab a 5200 BTU air-conditioner and have it blow cold air directly into the opened case. Don't put it on maximum power as this'll cause condensation to build up inside the case. My Athlon XP 2400+ at 2.5GHz using 2.15 volts is a 30 Celsius idle and 38 Celsius full-load.🙂
