Maybe I missed something but as far as I can tell the tiny little map in the bottom right corner cna't be the only form of map in the game is it?

I'd tried that, thinking "m" for map, but it didna werk...

Thanks though, any other suggestions?

Edit: I'd actually gone through the "controls" and every key on the key board to no avail, and the book hasn't been of any help either,,,

If you right click to pull up your invintory you can adjust between local and world on the map. Theres a button right on the map.

If you ever get frustrated by that interface, check out this external app:
Morrowind Interactive Map

It can potentially be used as a spoiler in that you can search for "Thalymus family tomb" (fake name) and find out where it is, even if you've never actually visited that spot in the game.

I use that interactive map a lot to re-orient myself when I come back to Morrowind after not playing at all for a week or two. I can attach notes to locations reminding me what I was supposed to do there and save myself digging through the poorly designed in-game journal. There are times when a medium zoom level is easiest for navigation purposes.
