Howdy,

I keep getting emails and voice mail from a particular company trying to get me (my business) to switch to them for our ISP. I have unambiguously told them no a couple times and to stop contacting me and my business, but they continue. Is there someone I can file a complaint with? If anyone knows about such things please let me know.

i wonder if someone was spamming you with adverts, from a legit address, and you signed them up for lots of spam, could they sue you for tampering with their email address? even if they brought it upon themselves?

just a random thought. i still suggest the a-team.

Ask for mailing address and contact your state Attorney General office. Most have online forms that you can fill out. They will generally kick the shit.....er......stop the calling party from calling again. Worked for me multiple times.

unless, of course, the company calling him has previously done business with him.

then it's not.

Do Not Call List doesn't even apply then.

But telling them to not call you again and to take you off the list is good enough to force the issue with Attorney General or other agencies to deal with shit like this.

Wow ... 6 posts in 10 years ... just wow!

OP, suggest you use caller ID to ignore them. If that does not work tell them to take your business off their list ... and if that does not work tell them you will sue for harassment if they call again.

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

That's the site which allows you to file complaints directly with the FTC. No need to sue for harassment, no need to threaten them. Just file a complaint every time they contact you. Let them know that you're actively filing complaints, but don't try to threaten them. Just state it as a matter of fact.

I've used that strategy successfully with several companies.

Do Not Call list as others said, although wouldn't that take ~6 months or so before most businesses are prohibited from contacting you for non-legitimate reasons?

File a complaint with the FTC.
