help on deciding which monitor?

I'm planning to buy a 17" CRT monitor, need some advice on it.

I'm thinking of Sony CPD-E230 , but my friend tell me that is not worth to buy it as i can get a good one (Samsung 753dfx) for 40% lesser the price of a Sony.

but i heard sony is more reliable, but the shop I'm asking offer a 1 year warranty for Sony as for Samsung they give 3 years.......

so which should i choose, or u guys there got any good suggestion for a 17" Flat CRT monitor.

You want a trinitron based screen?? Then get the SOny....otherwise the samsung is fine.........either one is good for a 17 inch....its the type of screen you want that should decide between the two.

I like the Mitsubishi monitors. They seem to have some of the best clarity and geometry on the market. They may cost a tad more, but it's worth it. C'mon, we're talking about your eyes here!!! How much do you value your eyesight? Also, you're going to be looking at this thing for a boatload of hours. Why not make them as enjoyable as possible?

I have two Dell Trinitron (Sony) monitors and they are nice. However, lately I have seen two Diamondtron NF monitors made by Mitsubishi, and they are definately superior to anything I have ever seen. One of them was a used 17" in great shape for $79! I wa so impressed I am gonna sell my beloved 20" Trinitron and get Diamondtron NF 19" when I find a good deal.
