Hi guys,

Looking to buy on immediate basis the best of the smartphones out there. Budget is not a constraint at all. Please help in deciding one out of the below models:

1. iPhone 4
2. HTC Evo 4G
3. Sony Xperia X10
4. Google Nexus One

I've been using iPhone 2G since a long and now my top priorities are:

- Video Calling
- High Megapixel Camera
- Fantastic Sound Quality of Music
- Obviously, full touch screen functions those like iPhone

Thanks in advance...

Afaik, only the Evo and iPhone have video calling. Android doesn't have a music player that's as good as the iPhones, but the sound quality will be similar.

Yes, only Evo and iPhone 4 can make video calls...Is Evo would be better choice over iPhone 4???

Did not know whether Death Grip of iPhone 4 would be a trouble in this bargain :(

If you live in the US, then getting a new Nexus One might prove difficult since they (Google) are no longer selling direct and there is no current retail channels for it. So chances are you will have to get one used/refurbished if you went that route.

Am from India and here too, Google don't sell N1 :( But I can get it from the other ways :p Now am in a confusion to go for Evo or iPhone 4, N1 might be out of the list because of No Video Calling :D

Any thoughts over the Death Grip???

- Who is going to video call with you? No one, since they won't have the capability.

- There is no such thing as a high quality camera on a phone (I think that's what you meant). 2 Megapixel cameras are superior to 10MP Camera phones. On a scale of about 100x better.

- They all have good sound quality.

Please stop thread crapping. -Admin DrPizza

The Evo has a higher res camera, but I hear the iPhone takes better looking pictures. iPhone is limited to other iPhones for video calling via FaceTime. Evo uses Qik which can connect to other Evos or PCs.

I don't think the iPhone antenna is an issue, just get a case if it gives you problems.

Apparently carrier is not an issue. I just moved to android a couple of weeks ago, from a 3GS. So I've been researching and crunching numbers quite a bit. I also have a verizon bberry from work (arghhh!)

Verizon/sprint - the whole no talk + data thing sounds trivial, but it is a serious pita at times.

what do you want to use the phone for?

iphone is still the best pure music player. I'm on my 7th android app (and in process of writing my own) and have yet to find one that just does everything the stock iphone player does.

if you want a portable gaming platform - then look into galaxy s (epic on sprint) line. the gfx power is incredible.

if always having the latest droid OS is important or you want a 'clean' android experience - perhaps you're interested in deving, consider the nexus one. It should be obsolete now, it came out 2 iphone gen's ago, but it is still a very solid performer and just shows how ahead of the curve it originally was.

on the other hand, most will agree that HTC's sense is the best flavored android, and htc has been pretty good at supporting their devices thus far.

do try the evo before you commit though, I have avg size hands and with the way I hold the phone, one handed is not easy because the screen is so large.

If video calling is your concern than the only devices to choose from are the iPhone, EVO, and Epic 4G.

All of these phones can video call each other via Fring over 3G.

Lastly if you want a good camera phone I would look at the actual photos instead of the MP.

GSM or cdma?

Sounds like you want iphone4 but just want a debate thread. International galaxy s has front camera. T-Mobile and at&t had Samsung remove it for their versions probably in fear of video calling slowing their network. You can video call with fring.

I would recommend the iphone 4, mainly because you already have an iphone so you're used to the UI and already use itunes and such. It has pretty good picture and video quality (for a phone), and really it's the best mp3 player inside a phone out there. I personally prefer an external mp3 player with better sound quality, but for a phone it does the job well with decent (not stock) ear phones.

Actually he specifically asked for high megapixel, what part of high megapixel (low quality) is so hard to understand?

OP, it's a tough question and I think given your requirements it's a toss up between the iphone and and EVO. I guess it depends on what carrier works best for you.

Especially considering that the OP is in India, most of us have no idea what coverage will be like (although I would expect mostly GSM since I thought CDMA was mostly just used in the US).

I don't think this guy even know whats hes asking and this thread will become another Android vs iphone.
India uses both gsm and cdma but we all know its very difficult to move cdma phones from one carrier to another.
The obvious choice is any unlocked gsm phone thats with hi requirement, its an iphone.

Lol wow. Not only are your posts heavily biased, but they're offensive. On top of that I can barely understand your fragmented sentences, but I'm not going into that.

Anyway to the OP, if you have to have certain features then you should know what phone works for you

Altho I dont care for ithings I would say the OP should get an iphone. No other phone comes close to decent music playback on a phone exept the iphone. My Droid and Behold 2 just suck at music playback.

Is this your first run in with spaceman? That's his thing. If he riles you up just add him to your ignore list.

See the link in my signature.

Apple has done an excellent job of confusing people into believing that their product flaw affects all phones.

Sorry Apple, but there is a big difference between a "death grip" and a "death touch"...
