Hello I'm a newbie at this and would appriciate all the help that I can get. I have a locked 1800+ Palomino and wanted to know if anyone would know how much I would be able to increase the fsb w/o over heating my computer. I would also appriciate if someone could tell me if the slk800 is really worth the extra $10 over the sk-7, I heard the sk-7 is only a few degrees off.

Download a CPU temperature monitor program (MBM5 - Motherboard Monitor 5) is a good one. Watch your CPU temperatures. As long as your idle temps are ~40C (when you are in windows) and your load temps are below 50C or 55C (when you are benchmarking or playing games) then you should be fine. You are not going to burn your computer down if your Heatsink/fan is installed properly; if you overclock too much then the computer will just crash or be unstable.
 
depends on if you like noise or not...the slk-800 is pretty much the best hsf you can buy, so any fan would go well with it. If you want the ultimate cooling, slap a tornado on that sucker and put on some headphones 🙂
