Title pretty much says it all, is there a nice restaurant by the "New Amsterdam Theatre" that is open fairly late? Thinking about catching the Lion King show then going to the restaurant ... price range from $50-$75/person ... a nice place that would memorable.

thanks in advance!!

::edit::
probably the genre of food is fusion (asian+french, asian+american), french, or japenese. keep the suggestions coming! =)

Smith and Wollensky nearby?

😀

mmm.....steak

On 2nd thought...nope...I think that's more up near 53rd or something

pricey and not the best food, but high on romance and ambience: the rainbow room. it's near the theatre too, right near rockefeller center.

list of other restaurants classified as "romantic". there's a yacht dinner cruise on that list which might be interesting. especially in the moonlight and the lit up nightline of nyc.

alternatively, the empire state building is near there but i don't know if they have a restaurant at the observation deck levels or what time they close. however, you could probably propose right on the observation deck before the show, like maybe coax her to use one of those binocular type deals you pay for then get on your knee so that when her time on the binocs is over she looks over at you and sees you or something along those lines.

even more alternatively, you could also propose to her right in the middle of times square.

good luck!

That is low class..........at least go to Burger King where you can get your fiance one of those cardboard crowns and make her feel like a princess before you pop the question.

You'll have to take the subway or a taxi to or from the show to this place but I recommend the food and the ambience. And too, celebs like to eat there, away from the paparazzi of the other places.

And you can spend more on that rock, because the prices there are actually very reasonable.

That would be classic..... put one of those crowns on your head, hold one in your hand, drop onto your knee, and ask, "would you be my queen?"

edit:
whoa.... just realized.... let BK headquarters know of your plans ahead of time... see if they'd like to sponsor your engagement in return for the publicity... Let them buy a 4 carat ring for her 🙂

That is a killer idea to make money off of your engagement. Might as well make a couple of bucks if you're gonna be saying goodbye to your bachelorhood. This would also be uber-romantical.

i've got your name and address............i will be calling your g/f in about 10 minutes to ruin your surprise, so hurry up and get your ass to burger king!!!!!!!!

dood, just think of it. after getting engaged and spending $200 on dinner, you can probably get away w/ burger king dinners for 3 years.
