I want to install NT Server over Win95 and have a dual boot system. Problem is I am unsure of how to proceed. When I go to install NT it asks me if I want to creat a new partician. I thought I could just install it into Win95's partician. I do not want to screw up my 95 version. How should I proceed? Anyone have a favorite website they can recommend?

Thanks

Gavin

Create a new partion for nt server. It will be much happier that way. Also, you need to make sure you are not using fat 32 on you hard drive. NT can not recognize FAT 32 drives.

I do have FAT32. What do I do? Is it safe to have NT create a new partician? I got stuck here when installing. If it creates a new partician will that screw up my 95 particians? Does NT ask to format the partician after it makes it?

Thanks

Hrmm... never tried a 95-to-NT upgrade before. If Windows 95 is on a FAT32 partition then yer outta luck unless you find some file system conversion utility. I think partition magic might do it? can anyone verify this? Anyway, like Adul says, NT4 needs a FAT (or NTFS) boot partition.
