Help notfred find some new music.

I've gotten pretty damn bored lsitening ti the same 1500 songs over and over again. I'm looking for something new and different... trying to expand my horizons a bit.

I've been lsitening to mostly punk rock, so I'm not gonig to want much more of that. I've started lsitening to a little bit of classical, but I'm kind of picky with that. I like orchestral stuff, but I really don't like violin or piano solos very much. I'd like to find more that I actually. (for reference, I like Holst's "The Planets", I hate "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"). I also like some rock from about 10 years ago. Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. I'm up for classic rock or modern rock if it's good. I don't relaly like rap, the only rap group I can think of that I've liked is Outkast, but if people want to suggest it, I may be interested (Note: don't suggest anything about hos, bitches, 40s, bentleys, guns, or killing other rappers). I'm also not big on country, but some types of acoustic guitar/folk songs are cool. Jazxz might be fun... I don't know very much about jazz.

Basically, I'm pretty open, suggest good music 🙂

How about something that deals w/ hos, bitches, 40s, bentleys, guns, or killing other rappers Tyler 😛

You might like the Chemical Brothers or the Crystal Method. Once you start listening to that you'll also start listening to Oakenfold, Van ***, Ian Vah Dahl, and other electronic shiznit.

Check out Sigur Ros, really cool sound. Also check out Apocalyptica, they do string versions of Metallica songs. And, of course, Tool rocks. 😀

You could go on amazon.com and type in the stuff you like, then follow the "Customers who bought this title also bought" links and the "Listmania" lists until you come up with something you haven't heard of. Thats what I usually do....

Try some folky irish punk like The Tossers (The Pub, The Crutch, Mad Riot would all be good).

Maybe some blues? I really like Guy Davis.

Maybe a little Yo-Yo Ma for some awesome violin action.

You might try "The Beatles".

Not many people know about them, but some people like them.

He just told everyone to not suggest anything about hos, bitches, 40s, bentleys, guns, or killing other rappers. You don't listen well do you?

Hey I want some new music too. Some stuff with light tune and lyrics.

Can anyone suggest some good beatles songs

And some blues stuff maybe

Clutch rules.

Honestly, I could tell, when they dropped, that only one, between them and Korn, was going to make it.

And the world has been regretting the decision ever since.

"OOH! EEE! OOH AH AH, DING DANG, WALLA-WALLA BING-BANG!"

Classical:

Dvorak - Try Symphony #4. Good shite.

Rock:

Symphony X - Preferably from their 2nd album and up. The 1st album's decent. A good starter track is "Of Sins and Shadows." If you like that, you'll love them.

Ayreon - Lucassen, the guy behind Ayreon, is a bit....out there. Most people find his random stuff wacky, but don't realize that all his albums are concept albums, and individual songs shouldn't be taken out of context of the album which they were on. That said, he's produced a few tracks that stand well on their own. If you enjoy "the Garden of Emotions," you'll probably enjoy the rest of the album. If you enjoy "The Shooting Company of Captain Frans B Cocq," you'll enjoy the rest of "The Dream Sequencer." And if you enjoy "Dawn of a Million Souls," you'll really like the rest of "The Flight of the Universal Migrator."

The Gathering - Check out "On Most Surfaces" and "In Motion #2."

Rap:

Two words: Deltron 3030.

do you have musicmatch? I find a lot of new to me people I enjoy listening to by listening to musicmatch radio.. like.. if I'm listening to.. what'd I do last.. jack johnson.. so I listened to musicmatch's jack johnson radio and discovered... radiohead? something with radio in the name, I forget just what just now, but I liked that pretty well. so.. I listened to radiohead? radio for a while..

anyway.. musicmatch radio is good for that.. there are probably others that are too, that's just the one I know.. but it's a good adventure in listening, to listen to their artist matches for something you're particularly enjoying at the moment and then just wander on to the next one when you find something else you enjoy.

I really hate to suggest anything specific, I'm so much older than darned near everybody here..

Might want to be a little more careful there...Yo-Yo Ma plays the cello, not the violin. 😉

Here are some bands: Train, Pink Floyd, The All-American Rejects, Abandoned Pools, Beastie Boys, Moby, Cream, Steve Miller Band, Blue Oyster Cult, and Styx.
