Help - No Sound!

My brother's pc has a SB Live! Value card and usually used it with cheap generic speakers. Yesterday I gave him my old Altec Lansing ADA 310's. After XP installed the drivers, I tried to install the software from the CD. Oddly, it said that the pc doesn't support USB, which it does.

There was no sound coming from the speakers, so we decided to put the old speakers back, but there was no sound coming from them either...

I tried reinstalling my soundcard but that didn't work.

Any ideas??

Not familiar with XP, but find Your control panel (start>settings>control Panel) and fiddle with all the sound settings (write down the ones you change incase you want to put them back)... Also find the Volume Control (start>programs>accessories>entertainment) and do the same.

Enable USB in BIOs.

Check out You're speaker and sound card manuals and there websites.

If it's a VIA mainboard maybe new USB and 4in1 drivers.

Maybe update Sound Card Drivers.

Hope You Get it! and Love You!
