I just got my Chaintech 7vjl and am in the process of getting everything set up. But when I try to install the audio drivers, I get a message saying that the audio chip cannot be found! I set the on-board audio jumper to 2-3 (enable). I also looked for the cmedia settings in the BIOS, but found nothing (The section where it is supposed to be does not have the cmedia field).

I have the latest BIOS (from 6/20/2002). Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone know how to enable the onboard audio?

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. A number of the BIOS options were not explained in the manual... Is there someplace where I can find a full explanation of the BIOS options?

OK, Now if you said you updated your BIOS, then then new features will not be documented in the
manual, as these are MP(mass Production) manuals that were distributed with the first version of the
BIOS. The only thing to try is goin over jumper settings again, checking the BIOS again. possibly contacting the MB manufacturer, mking sure your loading the right Driver. I know my board utility comes with about 4 ddifferent drivers for various audio chipsets. The there is always the possiblility the MB has becom damaged in some way..........Contact The manufacturer if you can't get it figured.
Hope this helps.....
