Hello, Please Help?
I just bought:
- Intel® Core 2 Duo E6400 Conroe Processor 2.13GHz, 1066FSB, LGA775
Crucial Technology Ballistix BL2KIT6464AA663 1GB Kit DDR2-667 PC2-5300 Memory
BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT PCI Express 256MB DDR3 Video Card w/Dual-DVI & HDTV-Out Retail
Asrock CONROEXFIRE-ESATA2 945P
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6V300F0 300GB Serial ATA (3.0Gb/s) 7200RPM Hard Drive
I installed everything into my case (Antec Sonata II w/ 480w power supply) and when I turn it on, I get no video display. I believe the BIOS to be a 1.1 version (that?s what the sticker says on the motherboard bios chip). I thought that It might need version 1.20 to get the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 to boot so I went out an bought a Celeron D chip to get it to boot so I could at least update the bios. Still get the same problem of no video/display. I?ve tried only using 1 stick of memory as well as changing the memory into the various slots and still get the same problem. When I have no memory on the motherboard, I get 3 beeps which repeats itself.
It seems when I turn it on that the computer restarts right away (some times). The reason I believe this is because I hear my CDROM drives make the same apparent noise that they do (and that I?m use to hearing) when the system is originally powered on. Some other times when I turn it on, the computer will power on with all the fans and then all on its own it will shut off for a couple seconds and then re-powe- on and then remain on from there. I have never gotten any video/display on any power up.
The memory specs says 2.2V?. should it work with this motherboard?
Is the problem my memory, the motherboard or the video card? Or maybe multiple issues?
Any thoughts. Please help!
