Hello guys...I am modding for the first time....I got a Saphire Radeon 9800 Pro 256 DDRII, and I got few questions
1. I wanna take off the shrimpy heatsink-fan off of it...how do u take it off?
2. Is it possible to put a cpu fan on this card anyway?
3. What is voltage modding....how u do it?

Ok, you're a newbie so I'll go easy on you. Rule #1: Don't post the same question twice in different forums. Now that we have that out of the way, just leave the card be. Only hardcore maniacs mess with video card heatsinks, and there's quite a few of those maniacs that get nervous when they hold a soldering iron near their $450 video card and try to do a volt mod, which is largely unnecessary. Just overclock it if you really want to (search for different methods of stability testing) or just crank up the AntiAliasing and Anisotropic (that's a freakin long word!) filtering and make sure your eyes don't pop out of your head while you play Unreal Tournament 2k3 :).

Listen to Schadenfroh.

Put the card down while it still works and put it back in your PC. If you have to ask these questions, you shouldn't even be thinking about moding a $500 card. You might want to fix the thread title too.

If you're a n00b then I don't recommend you mod a $400 card, unless you have a few thousand to throw around until you're able to mod one right. That card is fast enough as it is anyways.

Yes that is an awsome card!
1. I wanna take off the shrimpy heatsink-fan off of it...how do u take it off?
There are two plastic clips on the back of the card, use a pair of tweasers to "sqwash" these, and push them through the card(the holes), the HSF should come loose. Remember to unplug the power cable for the HSF as well.
The HSF on the 9800s anyway are pretty good how they are and allow some pretty good OCs. So what reason have you to remove/replace it?
2. Is it possible to put a cpu fan on this card anyway?
In theory, yes. But its quite a complecated task to do, and a little pointless considering that there are some pretty good GPU coolers available to buy which are very easy to fit.
3. What is voltage modding....how u do it?
Volt modding increases the amount of voltage going to either the video cards memory or core, and this in turn can allow slightly better OCs. Unless you have money to burn, i wouldnt bother.

You should be able to get some good OCs out of it without doing anything to the card at all.

I see you brought some tweakmonster ramsinks. They`re pretty good.
But didnt the card already have ramsinks?

The Vantecs, despite ppls opinions, suck for anything faster than a GF4. Anything like a 9700 or 9800 or FX5800 or FX5900, will not work particurlary well with a Vantec.
I reccommend something like a Zalman HP cooler. That`ll bring you slightly better temps than the Vantec, and if you want even better cooling, get the fan adaptor for it as well.
