Help new SSD

Hello,

I just received my new OCZ Vertex 2 ssd from newegg. I am having trouble installing a new Windows 7 64bit OS.

I would be able to install a new OS onto it and have it boot once. I would then restart the pc and an error message would state "No Boot Device Available". I tried deleting the partition and reinstalling 3 times. Same error.

Only 2 drives are connected. 1) SSD. 2) DVD
My pc is a Dell Xps 420.

I doubt this is a problem with your Windows install, so don't reinstall again, it won't do you any good.

Sounds like you either have something configured wrong in BIOS for the new drive, you have some hardware problem with your computer such that it can't handle the new drive, or your new drive is defective. The BIOS stuff seems most likely.

Scour the SSD setup threads for pointers on what to look for. You may be having problems due to the AHCI setting or whatever it is. On my XPS at work I had to change from IDE to RAID mode.
