Hi all! I am new to this forum but i do have years of experience with computers and PC hardware in general. I have a SERIOUS problem with a brand new Shuttle XPC box, model SK83G running Athlon 64 3000, ATA 160GB HDD. Here is the story:

I purchased a new Shuttle SK83G box i decided to use it to put a XPC system together. I installed 1GB (2x512MB) premium DDR RAM (PC3200) (Patriot) and i began to install the OS (WinXP). Everything was working great. Half way through the HDD format process, the system suddenly crashed and the system did not come up at all. My screen was dark. The Fan was constantly blowing on "high". I suspected the RAM. I turned the XPC off and I replaced the memory with new one (512MB of PC2700 Kingston)and system was back up. 20mins later, same thing happened - system died again. I put new 512MB of ram and it was up again - all normal. In 15 mins it died again!!!....at this point i stopped putting new memory in it.
Why is this happening? Interesting fact - I tried the same memory that "failed" on a different PC and it works just fine after that. Only the first block of 512MB Patriot memory turned out to be really dead. However the Shuttle box does not work with any of that memory if put it back. It cannot boot unless i put some fresh RAM in it. Why is that? I am using good quality PC2700 and PC3200. Any ideas? This Shuttle keeps "killing" memory and i don't know where to start to fix this. Please advise on how to proceed from here. I am LOST and i need HELP.

Thank you!
