HELP New power supply

Ok so I have a gaming pc my friend made me and
All of a sudden my 550w power supply break it blew up a capasiiter
So now I have 700w power supply but I don't know how to
Install it like I put most of it in but my CPU power is a 8 pin
And all I have is 6 and 4 pins can someone Skype and I share video
So you can help me?
 
Dude tell me the name of your PSU and Cabinet. So it will easy to us to give you advice with video.
 
Ok I plug everything in and it's working but now
It keeps shutting off and I notice on my wallpaper I have
CPU gage and once the lever hits 100% then shuts
Off I think my thermal paste is worn out but that's just a

I have a XFX nForce 680i LT SLI motherboard
And a cool power 700W psu


Pretty much a standard symptom of an underpowered power supply. It's not that your computer needs more than 700W, it means your current power supply cannot deliver 300W in real use. In other words, your power supply is a POS. Over-rated and under-built using a decade old design.

That's why the computer shuts down when stressed. Not enough juice.
