HELP! new pc beeps but won't boot!

Hey folks,

I'm a trying to put together a pc for the first time, and have run into a bit of a problem. Once all the components were installed, I tried booting up my machine, but all I got was a long beep (beeeeep), followed by another long beep, followed by shorter beeps (which alternated between high and low pitch). Unfortunately no video. Same thing happened after I unplugged all my IDE drives...leaving my vid card, ram and cpu. Hope you can help...am in a bit of a mess right now!

My system is the following:

P4 2.4B
Epox 4G4A mobo
256MB Crucial PC2700 ram
Geforce4 Ti4600
Western Digital Caviar hd
Lite-On cd-rw

Sounds like either your memory or your vid card is not properly seated or worse. Do a Google search on the web for "BIOS Beeps." There's lots there.
