Just got the board today, put on the heatsink and chip, plug in the ram, vid card, and power to everything. Looks good. Plug in the power supply and the nice red LED comes on at the bottom right of the mobo. Still looking good. Power off, plug in all the switch/led connectors, power back on, still LED, still looking good Hit power button... nothing. Well, okay.. not nothing, the fans all wiggle as if they want to start but I get nothing other than that. No beeps, no codes, nothing. I'm not even completely sure if the led is supposed to be red, can't seem to find any info about it in the manual. Any help would be much appreciated!

That little fan wiggle indicates:

1. Something is shorting the power to ground

2. Your RAM or CPU is not installed properly

3. You have bad hardware somewhere in your system.

Also, you may have mobo AGP protection. Try removing the vid card and see if it powers up.

Try disconnecting your HD's, CD-ROM and Floppy.....had a similar situation, I disconnected everything, computer booted....1 by 1 i plugged devices back in, found out the floppy drive was shorting out system.

Also, if you plugged in front USB wiring from your case onto a mobo header, unplug that. I had the same experience with my 8RDA+'s USB header, which had a hot +5V pin where I was expecting a ground pin... system wouldn't do a darn thing while it was plugged in, just sat there.

I tend to find that the video card isn't seated properly when your symptoms occur. Take it out and reseat as far as it will go.
