I want to build a P4 system and have so far settled on the following parts. I would appreciate as much input as all of you would be willing to give me. I am open to using different items, and would also like to gain from any experience any of you might have with regard to compatability issues, etc that I might expect to run into.

At this point I am just planning on buying everything from newegg, except the mobo. That I'll get from cdrexpress, unless I find something better. I am wanting something upgradable, but I also don't want to mortgage the house on it.

Again, any and all the input I can get from you all will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I bought the same CPU and motherboard as you. Are you planning to overclock? I have no experience with this CPU and overclocking, but the majority of people on this forum seem to recommend the original Samsung PC2700 DDR.

Here's what I bought for my upgrade.
P4 1.6A
Asus P4B533-V
Samsung PC2700 512MB
Lian-Li PC7 Case
Sparkle 350W PSU

edit: I bought everything from newegg.com, except the P4B533-V which I bought from ajump.com. It's coming via ups ground, taking 10days!! The newegg items get to me in 4 days. I hate waiting. :frown:

Know what you mean about the wait. Hope all goes smoothly putting it together for you.

At this point I don't intend to oc.....however!...I will probably take a crack at it down the road.

Let me know how you like it when you've got it all put together!

Even if you don't OC, the PC2700 RAM will provide better performance than PC2100, and it will allow you to OC if you so choose.
