So I put my new rig together last night. E6750, p35C-Ds3R gigabyte mobo, 2gb OCZ ram, evga 8800 gts, 700w OCZ psu, connected it to my monitor fired it up. beeeeeeeeeeep. one real long tone looked up the fault code. reseated the gpu fired it up again this time no fault codes just the quiet hum of my fans, but nothing on screen. With no fault code I have no idea where to start and since i have a p180 the inside of my case is a mess and I dread taking it all out. Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance

Yeah, lose that dread :). You can start with the assumption that if you have the right stuff in the right places, and no electrical issues, the thing will run. So start by making sure you haven't added something incompatible. Remove everything that isn't necessary to POST. You only need one stick of RAM, onboard video (if you have it, or card if you don't), hard drive, monitor, and keyboard. Take everything else out. If it still won't POST swap out the RAM.

If it still won't POST after that take the motherboard out of the case, and lay it on a table on a nonconductive surface. Hook everything up and try it again. If it still doesn't POST, you can repeat this procedure and swap out the RAM as before, the CPU if possible, and the PSU if possible. If you go through all these steps and fail RMA the motherboard.

More likely at some point it will start working, and you'll be able to build it back up to find the problem part or step.
