The build is: (no video card as it has not come in yet)

i7 3770k
Corsair H100
Asus Sabertooth z77
Corsair 4x4GB low profile 1600 CML16X3M4A1600C9
Corsair HX1050 power
Cooler Master Cosmos 2 case
Asus Bluray/DVD/CD
Intel 520 SSD 120GB

The issue as they came up:
- I started up the computer connected to HDMI output of the motherboard and I get no display on the TV (a TV, not a monitor)
- After several manual restarts and no success, I updated the BIOS according to the BIOS flashback feature of the board
- First start up after BIOS flashback, the computer startup then after all the check lights go off the CPU and boot device led comes on and the system restarts on its own and I still have no display on the screen
- I turn off the computer manual turn it back on and the boot device led on the mother board stays on
- I manually turn it off
- I have reseated every stick of RAM
- I have removed, inspected, and reseated the CPU
- I have started the computer up without the SSD and Bluray/DVD/CD player connected to the motherboard
- The boot device led stays on

The computer beeps (1 time short) at start up.

Isn't the HD4000 suppose to provide basic video output through the motherboard's HDMI plug? Or do I need a video card to see anything?

Please help, this is driving me crazy!

First things first, are you sure the HDMI lead isn't faulty and are you sure you are on the correct channel for the hdmi port you are plugging in.

I used 3 different HDMI cables.
I used 2 different HDMI (HDMI 1 and HDMI 2) inputs for the TV.

Ok next question, have you ever had another pc/laptop plugged into this tv (via HDMI) to confirm that the problem is the pc and not the tv as some TV's have problems recognising the output signal on pcs

Also can you check your bios graphics adapter setting is set to iGPU not iGPU/PCIE or anything else.

My brother has connected his laptop to the TV multiple times, no issue.

I can't get anything to load on the screen. Not even BIOS. I turn on the computer and nothing comes up on the screen. Not the ASUS hello, BIOS prompt, nothing.

Well according to the manual the Boot LED staying lit indicates that the system failed to find any boot device. Have you tried plugging the SSD into different SATA ports and/or using different SATA cables?

Not yet. I'm trying to get a signal to the monitor first. I can deal with the SSD when I'm ready to install windows.

I read on another forum that the default video out is through a video card not the HDMI on the motherboard. If you want to display through the HDMI on the motherboard you have to manually change it in the BIOS to that setting. That would explain no display.

According to the manual that I downloaded for your motherboard actually its default is Auto so it should automatically detect that there is not a video card present and switch to onboard video. You wouldn't happen to have a spare regular monitor around at all would you? You might also want to check the manual for your HDTV and see if there's anything that needs to be done to hook a PC into it in its settings. Also, was your brother's laptop hooked up through HDMI or through another input?

If your TV supports it try labeling one of the HDMI inputs "PC" and use that input. It may be you need to turn the TV on first or the PC or let the PC boot up one time before connectiong the HDMI cable.

Ok, back to basics.

*Take the mobo out of the case and place it on some cardboard or something else non conductive.

*Remove everything other than 1 stick of RAM, CPU and CPU cooler (and obviously have the PSU plugged into the 24 pin and 4 pin connectors. No SSD, no DVDRW, nothing plugged into the PCIE slots.

*Try plugging into the TV again, if you get no picture then take out the HDMI cable from the mobos back panel and plug it into your brothers laptop. If you now get a picture then most likely your MOBO may be at fault. There is still a small chance this is a screen problem though, some tvs are very picky about what they will and won't display so trying this process on another screen before you get the board replaced would be prudent IMHO.

I've done the bench test, nothing came up on the screen. I spent half the day yesterday just trying different things, retracing my steps, etc. lol

Like you mentioned, it's either the TV (which doesn't make sense why it works on my brother's laptop but doesn't from my computer) or the motherboards output.

I need to buy a monitor anyway so I'm gonna go see what I can pick up locally and go from there.

So the weirdest thing happened. I decided I'd roll back to the first BIOS and see how things go and surprisingly it loaded up just fine. This was a very strange experience...

ey, I'm haveing same problem. Which BIOS version did you use for this?

Im looking for my bios revision, which is supposed to be printed on the board, but I can't find it.

Another thing, did you use the bios reload button on the back of hte mobo? ( located beside the usb ports and those stuff), since I have no post I can't update bios on the screen.

Thanks!
