So I just got my new BH7 today and I go to install it. I swap out the Albatron PX845GPEV Pro and put the BH7 back in. I push the power button and the fans come on and spin for about a second or 2 and then it shuts down. I don't get anything on my monitor. I proceed to yank everything out except the power connectors, video card, and ram. Still nothing. I reseat the video card, ram, and the power connectors and nothing. :(*

Any ideas? Thanks.

edit: just to clarify, "nothing" means powers on for about a second or two and then shuts off. Oh yeah, I also tried clearing CMOS.

solution: Ok, I just searched for "Abit" and "boot", and someone mentioned on another board that the CPU fan header had to have something plugged in to work. Well, that was it. I have my CPU fan drawing power directly from the PSU. I switched it to the motherboard power, and it's working now. :)

I bet this is listed in the manual some where, but who reads the manual?

Clear the CMOS on the board. Hey, it might work... As I have no i845xx experience I can't offer any more assistance but I do wish you luck. I'm having a hell of a time with my new board as well.

The board wants to know that there is a working CPU HS Fan :)

Those pages just talk about reseting the CMOS.

Yes, it was the fan header!

What about fans that are too much load for the fan headers? I have heard of many fans that have "burnt out" headers on various motherboards. There should be a provision in the BIOS to allow for disabling that feature... Of course, you have to be able to GET INTO the BIOS to disable it though, right?

Plug the PS fan in the CPU fan header.

Gotcha. I'll keep this in mind if I ever install a fan that connects to the 4 Pin Molex rather than the 3 Pin onboard fan header. Thanks for allowing me to hijack this thread btw...
