Hi all,
I just installed a diamond Viper V550 AGP card that has 128 bit Nvidia TNT chip on it. We got it installed and installed all the drivers and it seems to work fine in windows but everytime we try and start any game, the computer acts like it's switching over to the game and then freezes completely. We've got the latest nvidia drivers, and we flashed our mobo(we're on a HP Pavillion computer with a 440 BX mobo). I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Stony

Check your BIOS settings, disable fastwrites & all video shadowing, btw what card did you have installed before? make sure your old graphic card drivers were completely removed.

The bios on this computer really sucks and doesn't have any advanced features at all. There's not really anything left to tweak that we haven't tried. I read somewhere else that it could be the agp bus speed, and that adjusting that might help, but we don't have that option either. Is it possible those are jumpers I might have to set on the motherboard?

Hmmm...go to Reactor and see if older drivers will work for your card. I don't think the "new" drivers work too well with TNT2s and TNT1s.

I would go to site Diamondmm and download the drivers they have and try them instead of Detonator drivers... Also the board may not have an AGP slot that is up to the spec of the card (kinda dout that but the TNT oringinal needed a different spec as opposed to earlier AGP cards)
