Help networking XP w/2K.

I have one pc with XP Pro and one with 2k Pro. When I used to have win 2k on both it was so easy to network and share files. Now with XP involved things aren't going smooth.
On my 2K machine I have the partitions shared. On my XP machine I have my C drive shared. I cannot see my 2k machine at all on XP. I can see my XP machine through 2K but iut says access is denied when I try to navigate to the desktop (which is where the folder I need is located). The simple anser would be to move the folder which I will probably do but why is XP being so aggrivating?
Anyone know where a good guide for networking these two OS's are?
thanks.

Still need some help. I have already transferred the file in question but I'd really like total access to all folders/drivers/etc. What do I need to do to get a shortcut oin the desktop of my XP machine to get to my 2k machine?

I had a problem with this.

My wife's computer (w2k) could not access my computer (xp)
Turned out her login account on the XP machince had an expired password.

Other than that, make sure they are in the same workgroup.....make sure you don't have a firewall set up which i blocking access.....

thanks Murph.

It ended up being the Workgroup name. I didn't realize winxp has MSHOME as default for workgroup.
