HELP! Networking problem occurred overnight

Here's the situation:

I have a desktop (main PC-Win98SE) and a laptop (work PC-WinNT4) connected to DSL via the Linksys BEFSR41 router. This morning, the desktop machine cannot browse the web and cannot even bring up the router administrator page. My laptop can see the desktop just fine and can even browse directories / files.

I believe that, for some reason, the desktop isn't being assigned a valid IP via DHCP. I have un-installed and re-installed the Linksys LNE100TX NIC card in the desktop and I've triple-checked that DHCP is enabled in the desktop. Still, the desktop is dead in the water--NO network/internet access.

Obviously, the laptop works fine--it's what I'm posting from now.

Suggestions?

try swapping ports on your hub / switch. make sure your cable is good. try assigning a static IP that is inside the same class C as the laptop and see if that works.
