Help. Network card question

I use an Intel Dual-port NIC to share my internet connection with my other computers. The internet quit last night and so I reconfigured my laptop today to test the line. I can use the internet on the laptop, so I think there might be something wrong with the dual port NIC. How can I test it? I can open the properties and it sends packets, but nothing comes in. Any other suggestions? My friend and I bought our dual port cards at the same time and I am going to try his and see if mine is bad, but what else could I do?
