This has been driving me nuts for months, so I thought I'd throw it out to you guys and see if you have any ideas.
I'm running Win 2k Pro and I install Nero 5.5.9.10, it installs without any problem.
When I start the program though, I get the little box saying 'Scanning IDE/SCSI, Please wait' This can go on for over 5 minutes, or until I lose patience. At this point, nothing happens, I can't even close the program in processes or task manager. The only way to close it is to reboot.
So, I can find no reference to this on the Nero website, I've installed the latest ASPI drivers.
What I did find though, was that if I renamed a 128kb file called WNASPI32.DLL to WNASPI32.BAK, I can start the program, but it'll only let me record an image and won't detect my CDRW.
This suggests to me that it's a driver problem, but I'll be (d)amned if I can get Nero to work.
Anyone else had this problem?
Anybody got any ideas?
Cheers.
Michael.
