Okay, well I got all the faulty and messed up parts fixed (ram, cpu, mobo, videocard) and so now when I turn the computer on, it will post, and then it says it is "initializiing floppy controller" it does this for 4-5 minutes each time, and then it brings up a screen that says "secondary drive atapi incomplinat" which isnt the case because the dvd burner clearly states it is ATAPI compliant. when i go into bios and try to change the boot order, the only thing listed is the floppy, so i went into the cpu health, and found the CPU running at 60 degrees CELCIUS....just doing bios. the heat sink is on top of the cpu, the fan is on and working, case has sides off....whats going on? The DVD burner and Hard drive are on the ends and ste to master of two seperate IDE cables...the floppy is hooked up correctly. The thermal pad appears to be sligthly scratched, but largely intact. When I power system on, I hear nothing out of the Hard drive...no spinning...Nathan suggested that the drives may have died with the PSU long time ago..What do you guys think

PS: I made XP home boot disks, and inserted them as directed by the BIOS, but when it finishes it, it tells me that no CD-ROM drive is detected. I then turn off computer, and when I turn it back on, it asks for the boot disks again.

You should take a look at the Source and if necessary replace it, there is not other explanation... try that, then you tell me! The temperatureis high, but it should cause alarm to you, just think about getting a good Cooling system, not only in the processor but in the entire case, good luck, you case is really strange, i've hear something similar, I'm a junior member but i've with computer many years... good luck, i'll keep an eye in this post, bye bye
