Help Needed with strange Soyo 6vba problem

I just installed a (new) soyo 6vba ( fresh computer- only Vid Card, floppy and HD connected) and this MB simply refuses to recognize a keyboard. Everything else is detected. All jumpers are correct, PS is fine. Anyone have a clue before I turn it into a frisbee?
p.s. I have a Soyo 6BA+IV that I have no problems with, so no Soyo remarks needed.

What kind of keyboard ps/2 or din?

I aks this because I had the +III and +IV and they liked the ps/2 variety, but not the din with ps/2 adapter.
