Help needed with soundblaster platinum

I bought a SB platinum last week installed it with the latest drivers. There is sound coming from the card itself but the d@mn Live Drive wont work. Its hookup good, cable is fine, it ran on a friends SB. But on my machine zero sound!
Please some advice.
 
By enabeling that the sound wouldn't be coming from the card. That is not the problem. My card itself works fine. The Live Drive itself is good (tested on another system) but on mine it doesn't work.
