I have a this router.

My desktop needs a wired connection while my laptop has a wireless-b pcmcia card. When I connect to the router using only my laptop, the connection is stable. But when I plug in my desktop into the router using a cat5 cable, the wireless connection drops on my laptop and it is unable to connect again.

I have updated the firmware but this issue still remains? I have tried google but couldnt find a solution to this problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

DHCP or Static IPs? Wireless encryption?

The connection drops irrespective of DHCP or using static IPs. Same with the encryption; I have tried using no encryption, using 64-bit keys and using 128-bit keys too.

I have also tried this with no NAT enabled or firewall restrictions imposed.

I would say bad unit. Only time problems like that pop up is when two devices are fighting over the same IP address.
