Help needed with Half Life 2

Hi everybody,

I'm sure that the majority of you have completed the game ages ago but my student status on my degree year really limits my available time.

Anyway to cut the long story short, through thick and thin i reached chapter 11 "Follow Freeman" and i got stuck in the room with the red laser beams. Obviously, whenever Freeman touches a beam the machine-guns on the ceilling start rattling like hell and there's no way out. I looked left, right, up and down but i can't see a safe path to walk around in order to reach the other side of the room.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I think you need to get on top of the machinery way back in the beginning of the room (not in the middle or end). Walk the pipes until you get to the end of the room, hop down, and turn the guns off.

Yes, jump on the black machinery...and hop around dodging the beams. you'll see it. 🙂

I had the same problem when I first came across it... if you look around you'll be able to see spots where you can jump on that are clear of the laser beams.

Yeah, you can hop up on one piece of machinery close to the door. From there it's just a matter of hopping from machine to machine. Make sure to grav gun the mines that start chirping at you.
