Got a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R motherboard, on XP Pro sp2, and been running just a single SATA drive on its own for 6 months with no problems whatsoever.
However, as I was running low on space, and can't afford another SATA drive, I thought I'd plug an old IDE drive in and use that as an additional drive for data. Now, the bios recognizes it, the device manager can see it in disk drives, but it does not appear in My Computer in the hard disk drives bit.
These are the some of the bios settings if it means owt
STANDARD CMOS SETTINGS
IDE CHANNEL 0 MASTER - CD/DVD DRIVE (connected to Intel ICH9R SATAII2)
IDE CHANNEL 0 SLAVE- HARD DISK DRIVE (connected to Intel ICH9R SATAII0)
IDE CHANNEL 4 MASTER - HARD DISK DRIVE (connected to IDE1) - this is the one that's giving me problems
INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS
SATA RAID/AHCI MODE - disabled
SATA PORT 0-3 NATIVE MODE - disabled
ONBOARD SATA/IDE DEVICE - enabled
ONBOARD SATA/IDE CTRL MODE - IDE
Thanks in adavance
